Forest Villa Oostvoorne

BESCHRIJVING

Forest Villa Oostvoorne

Bosvilla Oostvoorne, designed by Kumiki, is a sustainable family home in the middle of the forest where the facade cladding, beams and louvres are executed in Burned Wood Accoya. The design consists of three volumes on the ground floor and a fourth volume above, allowing the house to elegantly blend into its natural surroundings. The application of charred Accoya boards and beams creates a strong rhythmic facade image, with the wood acquiring its characteristic deep black texture according to the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique. At some large windows, the beams are placed closer together, functioning as a kind of wooden curtain while also serving as fall protection. The louvres, beams and facade boards together reinforce the interplay of lines and emphasise the horizontal articulation of the wooden volumes. This creates not only a powerful architectural image, but the application of Burned Wood Accoya also contributes to the sustainable and low-maintenance quality of the villa.
