PROJECT

IKC Anspach Dongen

DESCRIPTION

IKC Anspach Dongen

The IKC Anspach in Dongen, designed by RIENKS Architects, is a sustainable and future-oriented new building on the site of the former J.J. Anspach school. The building combines education and childcare in one transparent and open structure that invites interaction and movement. The facades are finished with Burned Wood Accoya in Swedish rabat profile, creating a natural, dark wood appearance with a robust, charred texture. This application of charred Accoya wood enhances durability and gives the building a warm, characterful appearance that blends with the natural surroundings. The design also respects the monumental trees on the site by shaping the floor plan around them. This creates a harmony between new and old, nature and architecture, fitting both the history of the location and the innovative educational vision.
